2024–2027 Strategic Plan

With a renewed commitment to our mission and an eagerness to bring even more members together to make children’s lives better, the Child Neurology Society has established a strategic three-year plan to bolster our future as the preeminent professional organization for child neurologists and researchers in the United States, Canada, and around the world.

Our Vision

To create a future where children with neurological and developmental disorders have equitable access to the best care and support, and where the professionals who care for them are recognized and valued for their contributions to the field of pediatric neurology.

Our Mission

To provide education, advocacy, and support for pediatric neurology clinicians and researchers to advance the field and improve outcomes for the children and families we serve.

Our Values and Principles

We hold ourselves to the highest standards and rely on six guiding principles to inform our work and direct our efforts. Those six values are:

  • Advocacy
  • Collaboration and inclusivity
  • Education and mentorship
  • Integrity and transparency
  • Patient-centered care
  • Scientific excellence and innovation

Strategic Priorities

Our three-year plan to build a stronger future for CNS centers around three key priorities: member engagement, financial health, and internal processes.

Improve member engagement

We will accomplish this by:

  • Developing a segmented approach to communicating with members.
  • Creating more relevant education and networking opportunities.
  • Fostering member research.
  • Enriching the member experience with proactive, open, informative communication.

Bolster financial health

We will accomplish this by:

  • Acquiring new members among qualified child neurologists, researchers, and affiliates.
  • Diversifying non-member revenue streams with new partnerships and opportunities.
  • Judiciously managing expenses and containing high-cost items.

Streamline internal processes

We will accomplish this by:

  • Employing strict financial and strategy management.
  • Evaluating and revising Board and committee policies and norms.
  • Implementing uniform outreach management systems.
