In her response on behalf of NIH Director, Dr. Francis Collins to a letter written to NIH by the Disability and Rehabilitation Research Coalition (DDRC) regarding NIH funding for studies on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on people with disabilities and chronic conditions, Dr. Diana W. Bianchi, Director of the NICHD notes that the NIH “has received few investigator-initiated applications addressing the infection’s effects on this population that we serve and this may represent a propitious opportunity for some of our members to move the field forward.”
