Children’s National has generously offered to make available to all CNS members a live-streamed special symposium presented as part of the first day of its 32nd Annual Pediatric Neurology Update. The panel discussion on the future of neuroscience, led by Nina Schor, MD, PhD, Deputy Director of NINDS, will include APNU speakers James Rutka, MD, this year’s McCullough Lecturer and Chairman at Sick Kids in Toronto, as well as Children’s National leaders Vittorio Gallo, PhD, Mark Batshaw, MD and Roger J. Packer, MD.

Course Description:

As advances in pediatric neuroscience continue at an exponential rate, the role of child neurologists and pediatric neuroscientists continue to expand and evolve. Leading experts from various disciplines in child neurology and pediatric neuroscience will discuss their vision for neuroscience in the near future. Speakers will include: Nina Schor, MD, PhD, past President of the Child Neurology Society, and presently Deputy Director of NINDS; James Rutka, MD, Chair of Neurosurgery at Toronto University; and leaders at Children’s National including Vittorio Gallo, PhD, interim Director of the Children’s Research Institute and Principal Investigator of the IDDRC, Mark Batshaw, MD, an internationally known pediatric developmentalist, and Roger Packer, MD, Senior Vice President of the Center of Neuroscience and Behavioral Medicine. This session is being held as part of the 32nd Annual Pediatric Neurology Update: The Future of Neuroscience, being held at the new Research Innovation Campus of Children’s National on April 21st and 22nd, 2022.
