Keith Van Haren, MD

Keith Van Haren, MD is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the Stanford University Medical Center. Dr. Van Haren received his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine, after which he completed a pediatric internship and residency at Mass General Hospital and pediatric neurology residency and a post-doctoral fellowship in neuroimmunology at Stanford.

Dr. Van Haren received the PERF Scientific Grant from the Child Neurology Foundation in 2011. He is a founding member of ALD Connect and The Global Leukodystrophy Initiative. His clinical and research focus is in leukodystrophies and autoimmune disorders. The Van Haren Lab at Stanford Univeristy explores the nexus of immunology and metabolism in the context of genetic disorders, with a focus on neurologic and immune phenotypes; it’s stated goals are “to build foundational knowledge and develop transformational therapies for each disorder we study.”
