Lawrence D. Morton, MD
Lawrence D. Morton, MD is the Division Chief in Child Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology at Children’s Hospital of Richmond ast Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Morton earned his medical degree at SUNY Downstate before completing a residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital in Philadlephia and a fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Morton’s research interests include status epilepticus, ICU neuro telemetry, and new anti-seizure drug development.
Kathryn O’Hara, RN
Kathryn O’Hara an Epilepsy Nurse Clinician at Children’s Hospital of Richmond of Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a past President of the Association of Child Neurology Nurses (ACNN) and 2016 recipient of the ACNN Claire Chee Award for Nursing Excellence. Ms. O’Hara is a board member for the Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia- Central Virginia Chapter and is actively involved on several committees of the American Epilepsy Society. She has helped develop the slide deck for Epilepsy 101 which is on the AES website. She has written numerous articles about Epilepsy and has lectured nationally on Epilepsy and First Aid for Seizures. Her passion is helping patients and families dealing with seizures and being a Patient Advocate while teaching them to be their own advocate.
Syndi Seinfeld, DO
Syndi Seinfeld, DO is an Assistant Professor on staff at Richmond Children’s Hospital of Virginia Commonwealth University. She earned her DO at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, then completed residencies and fellowships in pediatrics and pediatric neurology at VCU. Her primary area of practice and research interest is in epilepsy, with particular interest in febrile seizures and status epilepticus. Dr. Seinfeld was a member of the faculty for the 1st CNS John M. “Jack” Pellock Resident Seminar on Epilepsy staged in conjunction with the 45th Annual Meeting of the Child Neurology Society in Vancouver in October of 2016.
