Committee Description
The Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Committee is responsible for writing questions for the Self-Assessment Examinations (SAEs), which CNS members must complete 24 CME hours. Three SAE exams are available at a time. The committee also responds to CNS member’s inquiries about the SAE exams.
- Serve as Authors on three new SAE’s and write a total of 150 questions.

- Headache and other pain syndromes

- Neuro-ophthalmology

In 2025 the MOC committee will be reimagined as the Professional Development Committee with the following draft scope –
The Professional Development Committee, in close collaboration with CNS staff, other CNS committees, and external partners, creates and oversees programs and resources supporting child neurologists’ ongoing professional growth and advancement. This committee identifies CNS members’ needs related to career development, continuing education, and leadership skills and develops initiatives to address these needs, ensuring the society offers comprehensive professional development opportunities.
The committee works to develop programs and resources tailored to meet the diverse needs of CNS members at each career stage, from medical students interested in the field to practicing child neurologists.
