The Blue Bird Circle (in Houston, TX) has issued a grant to the Child Neurology Society in support of an annual award recognizing outstanding performance by a child neurology or neurodevelopmental pediatrics training director. The award recipient will receive a $1000.00 honorarium and plaque, and will be recognized at the CNS Annual Meeting as well as in the CNS newsletter and website. Previous recipients of the award are Harvey Singer, MD (2013) and Steve Leber, MD (2014).

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Nominees should be a current or former child neurology residency program director.
  • The award recipient should have demonstrated leadership and vision in local program development, curriculum development, innovation in teaching methods, or training requirements. 
  • The awardee should inspire in trainees and colleagues alike a passion for the practice of child neurology. Nominees must be living at the time of selection.

Procedure

  1. Prepare a Letter of Nomination 1-4 pages long, double-spaced. The letter should include a statement of the applicant’s eligibility for this award, as outlined above.
  2. Enter or cut-and-paste in text box primary letter of nomination . (If uploading files, simply indicate "Included in uploaded files.")
  1. Upload a single PDF file with a) one primary letter of nomination, 2) up to three additional letters of support, 3) nominee's CV. No signatures are required.

  2. The 2015 awardee will be informed of the committee’s decision by August 1, 2015.
