Our esteemed friend and colleague, Dr. N. Paul Rosman, shared the following sad news with us this morning by email:
"Dr. Alan Aron died from an apparent acute heart attack late Tuesday night, December 26th. Earlier in the month, Mount Sinai Medical Center held two wonderful celebratory events in Alan's honor, which Alan appreciated and enjoyed immensely.  Alan had been looking forward to his planned retirement from Mount Sinai on December 31, 2017, stepping down from what I believe was the longest tenure as Chief of a Child Neurology Service at a single Medical Center in the history of our discipline in the U.S.A.  Alan is survived by his loving wife Sarah,  his three children, Abigail, Alexandra, and Adam, and  his 8 grandchildren.

The funeral will take place at 10:30 am, December 29 at Zion Memorial Chapel, 785 E Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, NY 10543.

Shiva (days of mourning) will take place at 26 Bonnie Briar Lane, Larchmont, NY  from Friday December 29, 2017 through Monday January 1, 2018.

A memorial service is anticipated at a later date."
