CHILD NEUROLOGY

Assistant/Associate Professor

The Department of Neurology of Southern Illinois University School of Medicine is seeking two Pediatric Neurologists at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Neurology to join four other pediatric neurology faculty. Specialty interests in headache, epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, acute care neurology, and developmental disorders are especially welcome. The successful applicants will participate in inpatient care at local hospitals, outpatient activities of child neurology, and teaching of residents and medical students. There are also many research opportunities. SIU School of Medicine is affiliated with Children’s Hospital, which is a tertiary referral center for central and southern Illinois with a trauma-certified PICU and 40-bed Level III NICU. There are 12 full-time and 4 part-time clinical faculty in the Department of Neurology, and several cross-appointed faculty in the basic sciences and pathology. The capital city of Springfield is not far from St. Louis and accessible to Chicago. Faculty enjoy a stimulating work environment and comfortable lifestyle with lower cost of living and commuting distance in a university town environment. Call and service schedules are reasonable. Applicants must be board certified/board eligible in Pediatric Neurology and have strong clinical and teaching skills. Illinois licensure prior to employment is required. Salary is competitive with excellent retirement and fringe benefits.
